Born and raised in Boyle Heights, I’ve been researching and writing occasional blog posts about Boyle Heights history since 2014, and currently serve on the advisory board for the Boyle Heights Historical Society. In 2018, I had the honor of having one of my blog posts published in an academic journal in China. Working with the Angels Walk LA non-profit organization in 2019, I contributed brief subject overviews for four of the fifteen sidewalk markers (stanchions) located along 1st and Soto Streets in Boyle Heights, as well as adding several entries for the self-guided walking tour booklet.
